Space Adventures’ Board of Directors Appoints Eric Anderson as Chairman

June 23 2010

Space Adventures’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Eric Anderson has been appointed to serve as the Company’s chairman.  Since Space Adventures’ inception in 1998, Mr. Anderson has served as the president and CEO and has led the Company and the new space industry to the highest levels of achievement by pioneering the market for commercial human spaceflight and space tourism.

Since 2001, Mr. Anderson has sold more than $250 million of spaceflights for Space Adventures, including all of the world’s privately-funded orbital spaceflight participants aboard eight separate missions to the International Space Station.  In 2005, Mr. Anderson began working on a program to launch private citizens on a circumlunar mission using the most-flown human space vehicle in history, the Russian Soyuz. In 2008, Mr. Anderson completed the acquisition of Zero Gravity Corporation (ZERO-G) on behalf of Space Adventures. ZERO-G is the first and only FAA-approved provider of commercial weightless flights, bolstering Space Adventures’ portfolio of space experience offerings on Earth. Recently, in 2010, Mr. Anderson announced a relationship to allow private citizens to cross the threshold of space through an exclusive marketing agreement with Armadillo Aerospace, which provides yet another spaceflight option to the world marketplace.

Additionally, the Company is pleased to announce that Tom Shelley has been promoted to Space Adventures’ president.  Since 2006, Mr. Shelley has served as Space Adventures’ vice president of marketing and has been instrumental in the successful orbital spaceflight missions of the Company’s last four clients. The Company is also proud to announce that Terese Brewster has been promoted to president of ZERO-G.  Most recently, Ms. Brewster has served as the vice president of corporate operations for ZERO-G and has been responsible for the Company’s daily operations.
